Kaitlin flipped my shirt, patted my bloated tummy n said baby. :)
I asked her didi or meimei, 'Mei Mei' was her answer.

Kaitlin's hfmd when she turned 18 mths that week.

It happened unexpectedly.  Right after good friday that weekend, that sunday she had fever and spots were seen on her feet, arms and body.  PD confirmed straight away after seeing her ulcers in her mouth.  She had fever on Saturday, which i thought was due to the honeystars I fed her that sat morning.  Causing her too heaty.  Din expected that to be a bigger issue than that.

Quarantined for 1 week with her, at the beginning of the week, she could not eat and drink well.  Her ulcers caused so much pain to her, her appetite went down.  could only served her cold milk, cold chrysanthemum tea and barley water.  Any solid she couldn't take.  Good that, she still likes to eat banana which could help to fill her stomach.

Bought this beautiful orange daisy @ Tiong Bahru market. Costed only $0.60 , good buy I think. Brighten up my house a bit. 😊

Brunch @ Robert Timms restaurant

@ orchard shopping centre, near H&M mall. I ordered a 3-ways toast n Tiong -San ordered a big bang. My other frens ordered wraps. My dish is pretty filling n so was my hubby. 3 way toast, has poached egg, sautéed mushroom and turkey sausage with multi-grain toast. It was a satisfied meal afterall. One Fren ordered hazelnut latte and special request for a bear latte art. Very cute. Unusual than the normal leave latte art.

My Macbook airport revive!

Sent it to Apples service center @ Wheelock for hardware change on Airport card on Sunday.  Very fast, I got back my Macbook by today.  Lucky, Tiong-san bought Apple protection plan (APP),  my service for this did not require additional charges and covered in the APP.

Heng ah, this coverage lasts till this year Sep, up to 3 years.

Cheese sauce

Just need 2 simple ingredients:
1) milk, about 100ml
2) soft cheese: cheddar cheese, about 1/3 of the cheese block.

Steps to prepare the sauce:
1) Boil the milk in a saucepan.
2) Slowly add the cheese bits by bit or slice by slice.
3) Keep stirring till cheese is fully melt in the milk.

The brands of milk n cheese I used were, meiji fresh milk and Kraft cheddar cheese.

PS: Never use parmesan cheese as the ingredient, will not melt.

Heard from Wang Yng, added onions in the sauce will enhance the flavour.

Toddler n kids can eat this sauce. Taste well when mix with rice or pasta.  Can be frozen n keep in the freezer.

She keeps waking up every night in these 2 weeks!

Probably is her growth spurt! I wish it better be. Woke up in random hours, shouting for milk. Each time she finished her milk, and I also up her milk intake during the day. Hopefully it just an interim. These 2 weeks were oso my hard times to coax this lil gal to nap. Each time she sure will cry to protest. She tired I oso tired. Her poor daddy oso can't escape, night duties belongs to him. Pitied him that he had disturbing sleeps from her. Pls spare us, dear lil tigress.

My MacBook airport is died!

Feel a bit crippled w/o my MacBook to surf Internet. I still type faster using keyboard n prefer that more than the touchscreen keyboard. I Like the sound when the buttons being pressed down. Back to airport card, looks like I need to send it to service before my warranty is over in this year.

鼻涕虫

My gal is one such worm.  Her nose has been running for as long as i can't rem.   Given running nose med ddin't seems to help.  So one fine day after a nap, i just rem that someone mentioned to cover their feet with socks when sleeping at night and spread a thin layer of baby vicks might helped.  Decided to try this remedy on her for a week or so and noticed her mucus at night was lesser.  But daytime, when she cries, her running mucus still a lot n hard to get rid.

Sembawang god of wealth temple

Do u know god of wealth temple does to 安太岁 for people that conflict this year?

Amazingly, this temple is quite savvy, I found this info on google when helping Tiong-San searching for this svcs.

My first time n first visit to this temple was on last Saturday. A big tentage was built for 安太岁 outside the temple. I watched a simple ritual done by the priest on 安太岁, the whole thing took ard less than an hr to complete. The package that needed during the ritual costs $15. Of cos there were other add-ons to the package that up to individual to buy, such as the tai Sui amulet, etc. I was pretty impressed that it was pretty organized by the temple n many devoters/followers came to pray. From one the papers that allowed to bring home, I also gotten to know that for the year of snake, monkey clashes with the tai sui deity. Friends that born in the year of monkey, may considered to pray on the next lunar month. I have decided to go to this temple next year to pray for smooth ride.

Sharing another info, there are 60 tai sun deities which they rotate every year to take care of all the matters in that year.

Omg, where have I been?

I'm not been keeping up in my blog as long as I can't remembered.

Where in the world have I been?

Surely I am with the others in 2012 physically, where my mind have been to?

Ever since being a 24/7 sahm (stay at home mum), my energy of concentration has mostly drain onto her (my daughter). By the time, she fall asleep, my mind has been to TV, whatsapp with other mummies and myself. Where is my priority for my hubby? I should be ashamed of myself, shall do some reflections on my doings so far. Sounded serious, am I ?

To certain extent, yes, I think I need to reflect on myself. To some points or sometimes, I do deserve to have some of such 'luxury'.

Meantime, one of my resolution for this year that I should do, is to put up more regular updates in my blog. Things I have done, seen, feel, heard n tasted, should record more in my blog. To prepare for one day that I may turn senile ( reminded me of adora chia).

Starting solids

Kaitlin started solids when she was close to 6 mths milestone. Up till now, she has been eating solids for 2 months plus. It was fun , tiring and frustrating to explore her with various food. So far, most of the food puree were prepare by me. Mostly were veg n fruit purees. At times, I'm just running out of ideas on what to feed her. Hahaha.. Right now, she is a fruit lover. Prefer fruits than main course. When feeding her like porridge or veg, she sometime will eats till her head rests on the tray or pull her head away from the food. At such moment, fruits are added to motivate her to continue eating.

She enjoys people to watch her eat, kind of show off ho, hee hee.

8 months, 8 kg

Nice number, 88... She starts to crawl now, hahaha. Like to chase iPad2, funny gal! Seems dun like to crawl, wailing while crawling, still wan to crawl... Hahahaha.. Keep it up, baby !

Stop pumping :(

My milk supply has dropped drastically and everyday the amount that I managed to pump is less than 40ml .  Pathetic, I know.

Therefore, since she turning to 8th month this week.  I'm going to keep my pump tools when she just reaches this milestone.  I decided to stop as she already taking more solids and the amount of milk intake has drop.  Although somehow, I couldn't bear to give up pumping breastmilk and let it go easily.  Breastfeeding is a process that I had putting so much effort, with many sleepless nights.   I took it to heart that this milk given to her was so divine and precious.  I treasure the moments when she and I need to practice on latching.  When she could latched properly and fall safely in my arms and body, the bonding I have with her was truly heartwarming.  It was a short period, I'm thankful to been thru this wonderful and amazing experience.

Welcome 2011

Long long time, my dear blog.  Ever since Xiaoxian was born, my life has been circling around her.  I can still remember clearly on the events before her delivery.  Her 4 months milestone is reaching next week.  She will take another round of vaccine.  I always look forward to visit PD for her vaccination, cos get to measure her height and weight. Knowing how her growth progress like.

I had made my commitment for her to be a stay-at-home-mum looking after her at least for year, watching her growing up.  It was a decision that compromised Tiong-san and me after much consideration on the options we had and concluded this was the best for her.

I'm thinking how many co.  are really understanding to allow their employees to take long leave to look after their families?  To most people which is more important?  Family or work?

Budget 2011, what do u think?  does it brings some good news to you?  I hope for the next budget, it came focus more on middle income household as majority of us come from this sector.   As the inflation goes up, prices go up n same is COE, it tougher to sustain a family expense with the minimal increment in the income.  Other than pinning hope on the Budget, what else can a normal citzen do to lead a comfortable life without feeling the pinch in the pocket?

New milestone from 25 Oct

Last Friday seen Dr SF Loh, as usual waited almost 3 hrs to see his face again.  For the short 10-15 mins consultation, we booked a slot on 25 Oct for C-sect and weighed her thru ultrasound. 

She weighs about 2.3kg in my 34th week.  Nice size.  :)  About less than a month as we counting down, will be her arrival to our world.

Her movements are stronger these days!

I dunno if it is space limitation now or she is growing much bigger.  Her kicks and punches are stronger than before.

I just watched a DVD from Nat Geo "in the womb", explaining each preganancy week progress.  How I wish the foetus that grows is her.  How come we dun have 4-D image scan?  Then we can really see the whole face of her.

By wednesday, I hope I know what's her current weight and her progress.  My anxiety to see her face to face is stronger.  But I still have 2 months to go thru....Hope time flies faster.

Embark to 3rd trimester

Reaches to the 28th week milestone meant so much to me.  Marching into 3rd trimester is a step closer to welcome her arrival.  Yet, there are still a lot of preparation work has yet to do.  :P  her room has yet to tidy up. 
Her cabinet has not purchase but lucky we have one in mind.  We still couldn't decide the pram we want to get. Lucky other big item such as baby cot, my sister is willing to lend to me.  Though these are the outstanding items, but her stuff is accumulating every week and stack up on the floor unorganise.  I have storage problems to keep all these items...... haizz...

700 grams in 24th week

Yesterday gynae appoinment, we waited 2hrs plus in the private suite for our turn.  From dawn to dusk lo, I'm exaggerated la.  I was seen by another lady gynae because my gynae was too busy attend his long waiting list.   This lady was very friendly, ready to answer any questions from the patient.  She taught us how to count the bb movement.  Continuous movement consider as 1 count.  The next movement occurs with the interval of 5-10mins is consider as 2nd count.  Throughout the whole day, the optimal movement count is about 10.  If less than that, may consider consult the gynae.

She scanned and measured the tummy side of hers to estimate her weight.  She told us according to the size of the tummy, bb 's weight was 700g.  It was just the right figure for her growth. for 24th week :)  We so glad to hear this from her! hee hee. Hahaha, now I know bb's tummy measurement can estimate the weight.  I learnt something new.
